Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)

A woman's breasts should feel normal and natural and not be a source of discomfort for her. Overly large breasts can cause neck and back pain, inability to exercise effectively, and posture disturbances. Breast reduction surgery removes excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve better-proportioned breasts, enhancing a woman’s physical comfort and body image.

The technique I perform for breast reduction was developed in Brazil and has excellent results for our patients. Tissue is removed from under the breast in order to preserve the upper part of the breast, which retains fullness. With extremely large breasts it is sometimes necessary to replace the nipples as grafts. There is usually little pain associated with the procedure.
